Elsewhere Luxe
Every stay on Elsewhere Luxe is chosen against the same standard. This page sets out what that standard is, where the information comes from, and what our collections do and don't claim.
We curate stays guest-rated 8.0 or higher. The rating is the aggregate guest score returned by our availability supplier for each property, drawn from verified guest reviews. A high rating is necessary but not sufficient: it tells us a property is well regarded, not that it belongs in a particular collection.
Our stays are primarily 3 to 5 star, or comparable properties that the supplier classifies at a similar tier. We do not list everything that meets the rating threshold; a stay also has to fit the collection it appears in.
Free cancellation on most rates. We do not promise free cancellation on every room. Each room carries its own cancellation terms, with a clear deadline shown at booking. Cancel before the deadline and there is no charge; cancel after it and the rate's cancellation fee applies. The exact terms are always shown before you pay.
Availability changes by date and by supplier inventory. A property that is bookable one week may have no rooms the next, and a different supplier may hold stock the first does not. Our search returns live, bookable inventory for the dates you choose.
Rates are dynamic. Prices move with demand, season, and supplier. Taxes and fee conditions are shown at booking, on the room you are actually paying for. We never display a price below the supplier's selling price.
A collection combines available property data with Elsewhere Luxe curation. We take the bookable inventory our supplier returns for a destination, apply a structured filter (for example, a rooftop facility, in the Rooftop Views of Rome collection), keep only the stays that meet our guest-rating threshold, and then present the result. The editorial framing around that list is our judgement; the underlying property data, ratings, and facilities come from the supplier.
The distinction matters. Supplier information, the property records, ratings, facilities, and coordinates, is provided by our availability supplier. Elsewhere Luxe editorial judgement is the choice of which properties to surface, how to group them, and what we say about them. We do not restate supplier data as our own opinion, and we do not present our opinion as supplier fact.
Collection data is periodically reviewed and refreshed. For the Rooftop Views of Rome collection we run a scheduled snapshot that samples four Rome stay windows and records which rooftop-qualified, 8.0+ stays were bookable. The collection page shows the latest snapshot, and the live search on that page reflects current availability for the dates you choose.
Quantitative findings on Elsewhere Luxe, such as how many qualifying stays appeared in a snapshot, describe Elsewhere Luxe's bookable inventory for the sampled dates. They do not describe the whole destination market. A city may hold many more properties than our supplier returns, and many more than meet our threshold. We report what we can book, not the market at large.
